Objects shift relationships to the viewing experience.
Objects have an immediate correlation with the space of the viewer and enter the translation process through that shared dimension and tactile connection. The intellect will become dominant in the deciphering of the object’s meaning (how it functions), but the physicality of the object will always assert its evidence as a link between mind and body.
In these few sculptures and set designs I wanted that physicality to not be forgotten; in fact, I very much wanted the object’s conditions as a reminder of how each idea might be traced to its experiential precedent.
